Certificate of citizenship

Common questions

The most common questions about certificate of citizenship.

Who files Form N-600?

Someone who is already a U.S. citizen through a parent and wants proof of it. That covers a child born abroad to a U.S. citizen parent, and a child who became a citizen after birth: a green card holder under 18, living in the U.S. in a citizen parent’s custody. A parent can file for a child under 18.

Do I need a certificate to be a citizen?

What does it cost?
